Pakistani wedding

Culturally, marriages are not only seen as a union between a husband and a wife, but also an alliance between their respective families. These traditions extend to other countries around in the world where Overseas Pakistani communities exist.
Despite their local and regional variations, marriages in Pakistan generally follow Islamic marital jurisprudence. Pakistani wedding has many interesting small functions involve, like mayyun, Dholki, Mehndi, Barat and walima. Functions start many days before and it continues at least fifteen days.Lets have a look of our traditional Wedding function.

   Mayun

The Mayun function held fifteen or twenty days before the wedding fix date. On this function, the groom's family with relatives and friends come to the bride's home. The groom's family brings the yellow dress, yellow Khusa, and yellow Paranda for brides.

In mayon, oil and turmeric are applied to the bride's face and hands to make her look pale and bland; she is also made to wear yellow – all this designed to make her look especially attractive and glowing on the day of the mehndi (in some cases this transformation is reserved for the baraat).

On this special occasions, special sweets are presented to guests, decoration is made with all yellow flowers and curtains. And girls sing special songs for bride. These are memorable moments for every girl and boy.

Bride is applied with beautiful hand and foot mehndi designs which looks more awesome when mehendi dries and give its full colour on her hands.

Girls sing song on dholki and bridegroom family brings bangles , sweet and dresses for bride. Whole function is c.bine of both families.

As a wedding tradition, it is followed in many part of India as well as in neighbouring countries of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. Mehendi is quite popular among Muslims as well. According to Islamic literature, Prophet Muhammad used mehendi to dye his beard and administered its use to those who were unwell. The“Baraat” is the reception of the groom, his family, and his relatives in the bride's house. It is the formal ritual of the wedding. The groom usually rides a horse or a horse carriage while leading the way to his friends and family dancing on the beat of the drums. All guests from both sides are invited and this is the day when girls leave her home to go her bridegroom home. Family of bride tries to give all beautiful gifts to groom fa and his family. Every face looks glooming and shinning as a couple is about to start a new life with all prayers of their parents and elders.
Bride tries to wear her best wedding dress and bridegroom wears matching dress with her bride. This function is full of excitement for both families.

It is a beautiful tie between not only two persons but also between two families.
